As you might know, my husband Jeff and I are building a house. How many times have I been to hardware stores? Too many to count, and I like to amuse myself by picking out free samples. In today's video, watch me attempt to recreate countertop/flooring textures such as woodgrain, marble, some kind of green speckled thing, and several others as fast as I possibly can!
Thanks as always for supporting my videos. Viewers seemed to love the last one, where I was simply matching flat colors, so I hope they'll enjoy this one just as much. It might not seem like it, but each video ate up two whole days that I'd normally devote to completing commissioned paintings. Your generosity makes it easier for me to justify the time spent away from those projects. I appreciate you all. I hope you like this exercise and give it a try!
PS Appropriately enough, Splash 16: Exploring Textures has just been published. My painting "Allure" is in it. If you love watercolor at all, you should definitely check it out. This is one gorgeous series, and I'm honored to be part of it.
