The bosses at Patreon have reversed their decision regarding the recently-announced fee changes:

Dear patron,

Last week, we made a bad decision. We made an announcement about how we were going to restructure fees on Patreon. Creators and patrons immediately gave feedback that this was not the right way to solve the problem, so today, we announced that we’re NOT going to roll out those fee changes.

You may have deleted your pledge in response to that decision, and creators have asked us to provide an easy path back to re-pledge if you’d like to. Creators should not be penalized for our bad call. Your connection with them means everything to us, and we’re working to restore what we damaged.

If you want to re-pledge to the creators you stopped pledging to last week, click here. If you’ve already re-pledged, thank you.

We’re really sorry, and hope this is one step to getting back on track.

It's a little late, and a lot of creators have lost patrons (I cancelled some of mine which I now need to go back and re-pledge), but at least there shouldn't be any long-term damage to creators' businesses.

As I did promise that there'd be no charges this month, I'm going to keep the page set to a per-item charge for December, take a break from posts, and start back up in the new year.

What this whole thing has done is give me a kick up the ass that I need to really start offering some quality content, rather than relying on my first draft chapters. So look forward to some new content in 2018!
