Many thanks to Jai for being our last Patron of the week! My apologies that it's been a few weeks since we had a post. We're back on schedule and without further adieu, here's Andy!
1. What kind of games do you enjoy playing and why?
I don't think I'm attracted to a specific *type* of games. It's usually theme or art that will attract me to a game, but sometimes games are just that damn good that I can look past that. I've got over 100 games in my collection now, so there's plenty of variety. Some of my favourites: Dogs of War, Concordia, Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn, Celestia, and Bring Your Own Book.
2. Do you have a "flip the table" game? If so, what was it?
I didn't physically flip the table, but I did get very annoyed the second (and last) time I played Dominion, so I did my best to end it quickly. It's not a fun game when other players have played it to death and know exactly what every card can do.
3. What are your other hobbies? Or What's something else about you that you like people to know?
These days, when I'm not playing board games, I'm creating my own! I'm still working on next steps, but I've got a couple available to print and play on my website (http://uselessalchemist.co.uk/).
Other than that, I spend a lot of time trying to get through all the books I keep buying.
4. Favorite GGS episode so far and why?
It's been said already, but I'll have to say the Fog of Love video as well. I've been recommending it other people whenever the game is mentioned.
5. What is something that gaming has brought to your life?
After working in a nightclub for two years, I was burnt out on going anywhere like that, so games have offered me the opportunity to go out and meet new people, as well as spending time with friends. And it's given me a whole new interest to explore - just so much information to take in and discussions to have. I don't think I'll ever get tired of that.
Feel free to post any questions you have for Andy in the comments below. Or just say hello!
