I dug this back up when I was going through my own poetry for the Void project. I won't actually be using it for that (I think) - so here, let's have it. This is a much older piece, from well before I was looking to publish poetry. I had not yet realised even that spec poetry was a genre I could intentionally explore, so this one is a bit of an outlier from that time. My computer dates the file to 2009.

Binary System

Happily ever after

was a complete mistake.

The planets aligned -

from out of nowhere and nothing

our bodies came together, 

heavenly, shining.

We are trapped, bound

in each other.

I will orbit in your arms 

forever, my brighter half;

dust to cosmic dust.
