People Get Ready, Spring Is Coming!
Above: video of Courtenay Lewis and I singing a re-make of The Impressions' hit "People Get Ready" at Democracy Spring climate change day at the Capitol. The "Spring is Coming" song was apparently used during indoor sit-ins and along the 140-mile march.

Below: mp3 higher quality recording (not of the audio of the video.)

This is my first paid post! have been posting free songs for people to get a taste of what I do, but consider this my first of two monthly posts to premier Patreon! Thank you so much for pledging - it's meant a world of difference in my quality of life as I go through treatment to be able to count on your support. Remember that I will not post more than 2 songs per month, but you can set a monthly "cap" or maximum just in case. I am making most of my songs available to the general public, since I'm trying to make music for the people, after all, but your pledges are a way of you saying, "Hey, I like what this girl is doing and I want to make sure she can continue to do it."

As promised, thousands were at the Capitol these last two weeks as part of Democracy Spring and Democracy Awakening protests demanding a shift away from the extremely wealthy controlling policy in this country. 1,300 people arrested. It has been deemed the largest and longest sustained civil disobedience in this country in this century. But this is just the beginning. It feels like a movement is blooming. These last two weeks ignited passion and hope in many and I hope that the way we continue to talk about, sing about, and fight on these issues will continue to be bring in more passengers on the revolution train!

Lyrics:

People get ready
Spring is coming
Don't need no money
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the people calling
We all deserve a voice
Rich or poor

People get ready
The movement’s coming
Don’t need big money
To have a vote
All you need is hope
To hear the people calling
We all deserve a voice
Rich or poor

People get ready, spring is coming
People get ready, the movement's here
