Cancer.

Why?

No one knows.

It snapped its fingers

and I awoke.

From what?

That hypnotic haze

that kept my days in a daze.

Imagine what as if I were?

A goldfish in a blur

plump and peachy

being dragged

out of a blurry aquarium

plunked into plastic

dumped into

the clear, clear sea

Steering a sailboat

on wonky waves

romance controls.

Words hit harder

than the sharp rocks

wrecking the craft.

Just like a bottle of ketchup

turned upside down

a bottle of life events

turns my smile upside down.

I wait and I wait

I know and I know

it is going to be good

but come on already

my fries are getting cold

Midlife Crisis

rumbles along the boulevard

Grey hair balding

Rock and roll wheezes

Convertible breezes

Sunny silver paint

Like rays on a lake

The Falcon

Lands

On its pedestal

My balcony, its resting place

I am willing to share with

Such regal grandeur

Such regal grace
