Poisonous Pinnacle Tree
At the wise advice of one of my friends, I went with the more crooked silhouette for my poisonous tree. The bark is rough and bumpy with rows surrounding it. The leaves are three pointy, papery structures, and would be gross but edible. The fruit, until the one day that they are ripe, are poisonous and glow in the dark. The bodies of dead animals help fertilize the ground near the tree; scorpion flies and vultures that eat the fruit at the right time help spread it's seeds. It's not a great reproductive strategy, but there's not much competition in this desert for trees.
