Now for the updates.
I've been mulling things over in my brain (which is more like just allowing my mind to wander at work), and I've come up with a couple projects that I would like to work on in the next year (starting now).
The first is obviously the anthology that I've been working on. There is zero point in starting anything else if I'm just going to give up on this. And I sure as heck don't intend to. I've trimmed down the amount of stories I originally planned on having and decided to just beef up the ones I will have. The almost most latest one I've been working on is over 8,000 words. While technically not a short story at that length, it will still be included. I've had to put it aside for now though. The story started to take off in a different direction and I need time and space to decide if I like it. I did learn from it that if anything goes over approximately 5,000 words, then I need an outline.
I fully intend on joining in on NaNo this year. Tbh though, I join every year. I have a SciFi idea this year though. Which is different from anything I've ever done. I need to start deep planning this now. Get all my ducks in a row. I'm really excited for it this year. I have high hopes for it. But don't worry, I won't neglect the anthology either.
Secret Children's Project
Is it still a secret if I halfway gave it away? Anyways. I've been thinking about this idea for a while now. It would be a children's series (picture books) that follow a little girl. This would be a much larger project because I would need to dust off my old art skills. And figure out how picture books work and how much they cost and all that fun stuff. Right now, it's just a dreamy goal.
That's pretty much it. I'm sure I'll sneak other projects (or novels) in throughout the next year. But these are the ones I will actively work on.
