Q&A #1: Did John measure the ruins of the temple?
Revelation 11 has been assumed by many to mean the Apostle John measured the existing temple, Herod's temple, either in its operational condition prior to 70 A.D. or in a ruined state following 70 A.D. Both of these assumptions are false, as demonstrated by the same symbolism utilized by Ezekiel in his famous prophecy of the Millennial Temple found in Ezekiel chapters 40-48. In a prophetic vision, the use of a measuring rod indicates the structure to be YET FUTURE. It DOES NOT indicate the structure to be already in existence.
