The King of Cuts (Swords) rules through intellectual power and authority. Opinionated and certain of himself, his actions are well thought out, he leads with a clarity of purpose, and he's generally a well respected and loved figure. Swords are an intellectual weapon, one that "cuts through" barriers and confusion. But they always come with a reminder that the blade cuts both ways, and wit can be as harmful as helpful.
But today's card is upside down. Court cards can be interpreted a great many ways, but in this case & context? The reversed card means a tyrant who 'baffles 'em with bullshit" using flash, charm and manipulative tactics, misdirection and propaganda to mislead and distort. It represents a man who is easily provoked and prone to anger, especially when insulted or when his authority is questioned. They can be very charming, but are ultimately self-centered, and everything they do is for their own benefit. Sound familiar?
Interestingly, this card represents both Obama and Trump, with one upright, and one reversed. But there's still very little agreement on which is which -- propaganda is a powerful force.
Meanwhile back at the Qwirk foundary, I'm slowly coming back to myself, and a set of perks should be arriving in mailboxes this week. The protest project needs some retooling because of the controversy over the hats, but things are moving SO fast that it's overwhelming! I'm probably going to post some more of the images that are already done, just so you have them, and some are just darn cute.
And yes, a few will be released as prints and postcards this week, so they can be used for contacting election officials, and so forth!
Ok, that's it for now.
