There are some things you just can't sculpt as well in resin. Reaper knows this, which is why this roper -- excuse me, "stone lurker" -- has tentacles that are made of bendy plastic.
I had no idea for the longest time that ropers weren't just big stalagmites with tentacles, but were actually sticky fishing rod monsters who could lash out at a distance and drag characters into their maw. It matters, because traditional sculpts of the roper don't look like the thing could reach very far. Thanks to the spindly limbs of this stone lurker, you can believe it could reach well beyond its base to attack the unsuspecting.
I painted this figure using the stone colors from Dwarven Forge so he'll blend right in with the terrain.
