Rescue and Survival planning
Needless to say, a lot of planning goes into Wilderness flying, no matter where you fly.  In remote areas such as Alaska or Canada, special attention to survival equipment is required - (and mandated by law)

If you spend a lot of time in the outdoors, you probably already have a lot of this gear, but here's a sample of what went into my bag, when flying in Alaska.

Information can be found online about what is required.  A survival kit is absolutely essential.

My survival kit includes  equipment for :

First-aid medical supplies

Water, Food (for 1 week) , Fire

Creating Shelter

Navigation & Communication (signaling flairs, 2-way radios/batteries, maps, compass, etc)

Protection from wildlife

Thermal protection clothing
