Since that time, Ron has traveled life's long and winding road, seeing the world, finding his soulmate Alida, and raising a family, and while a professional career outside of music kept him on the move, music was never out of his life.
In Spring of 2014, Ron and his band, The Sixth Generation made their Blitz debut with Ron's song, "Livin' In A Small Town." A song that hit Billboard's Hot 100 ranking at number 2 for over 10 weeks. When the question came along, why didn't it reach number 1? Well, there was this little band who call themselves The Rolling Stones, who were celebrating the 50th anniversary of a song entitled, "Satisfaction." So, if you had to take the number 2 spot behind the Rolling Stones, that's not so bad a place to be.
Since that time, Ron and the band (who have become fondly referred to as the Fab Four of Radio Rock)have released the EP "Feelin' Good", a collection of songs written by Ron whilst vacationing in the Cayman Islands. (Not a bad place to find your muse.)
Well, since that time, Ron has found his muse once again in his first upcoming solo album, entitled, "Musings." And we here at the Blitz have the honor to have an advance spin before public release of the song, "Nothing Like a Rainy Day." A song, Ron tells us he was inspired to write, thanks to DJ, Tom Slick's love for the rain. I suppose you just never know where inspiration will come from do you?
So, tune in Monday Blitzers to hear an advance spin of Ron's new song right here on The Morning Brew before anyone else! Ron Hamrick and The Sixth Generation have been showing their support of The Blitz since we met them back in 2014. Let's return the favor and show our support for Ron for his first solo album, "Musings"
