Schubert, 13 Variations on a Theme of Hüttenbrenner, D 576, Var 6
Anselm Hüttenbrenner (1794 – 1868), was an Austrian composer, student of Salieri, and a friend of both Schubert and Beethoven. He was one of only two people present at Beethoven's death.

Schubert wrote a set of 13 variations on a theme by Hüttenbrenner, D576, which he dedicated to "his friend and schoolfellow". Here is the theme in A minor, a funeral march in a slow duple meter.
