Ashihara is a full contact Karate style (sort of like Kyokushin). It also focuses on the ability to fight against multiple attackers and being able to defend oneself in a “street fight”.
Surprisingly, this "hard" style of Karate also has kata. However, their kata seems more practical. They have their kata broken into different types such as kihon kata, throwing kata, fighting kata, self-defense kata, etc.
What do you think... Can kata be used for self-defense training?
