Silly Billy- when it goes wrong
So here we have a fun work! Not entirely my usual style you will note.

So here's the thing.....

I was planning a wintery, snowy, icy forest if silver birch set against a bright blue sky, and it started will, really it did but I was not very happy with the resulting work. It was rather too...clinical. Not at all natural and forest like. The effect on the trunks of the trees I love, but the paper was a bit too smooth to make texture work well. And I was really not bold enough in my sky making the over all focus of the contrast (tonal distribution) wrong.  I shared it with my Facebook friends and fans and got some fun feedback...giraffes were mentioned, as well as twiglets (a well known snack in the UK) and one of my favourite supporters mentioned flamingoes...

You can see what my response was! I added flamingoes!

In the meanwhile I have started a new silver birch painting with a forbidding, snow stormy blue-hour Sky. This one will probably require Dolphins....;-)
