This Sim finds it hard to get to know new people and feels uncomfortable in social situations. Until they get to know Sims better, they tend to stay quiet and timid!

These Sims will develop social, charisma and comedy skills at 0.2x speed instead of 1x. All human to human relationships will develop at 0.6x speed instead of 1x, but relationships with pets will develop 1.4x faster. These Sims will have their confidence emotions develop and maintain at 0.6x the speed, as well as their confidence buffs. 

The Sims will randomly get 1 of 5 buffs every day or so, and these buffs will make the Sims embarrassed. There are an additional 13 buffs the Sims can get. For example, when away from their home, they will get a 'Feeling Watched' buff, an 'At Home' buff when they are at home, and when near Sims they don't know well, they will get an 'Unknown' buff. In contrast, they will get an 'Among Friends' when near a friend, a 'Near Shy' when near another Shy Sim, and an 'Intimidated' buff when near a self-assured of self-absorbed Sim. They will get a positive buff whenever they do online or phone communication, and will get a negative buff when at work or school. This trait is available to all ages from Child upwards.
