Slueth! A Yaoi Webcomic

First of all, major thanks to artist Catalina Arriagada AKA neko-rulz on Deviant Art who helped me with this project years ago. My only regret is that we weren't able to at least get a few pages up but that's  how it goes sometimes. Feel free to check out her stuff!

Now then, as I have mentioned before, many, many years ago, before I was fortunate enough to work with Tailsteak, I was struggling to get a webcomic, any webcomic up and running. I spent many years looking for an artist wanting to do a long-term project like that but things always kept setting me back. Either I was lacking in finances, the artist was unable to continue or (on at least one occasion) the artist lost all interest.

One of the things I tried to do was to write a webcomic completely set apart from my idea with Roll To Save. It was to center around a private investigator, going through his day to day life with his three best friends. Huh, that character dynamic sounds a little familiar, don't it?

THE STORY

In case you're interested in the premise, it centered around a disgraced police officer named Frank Fletcher. He was far too soft for the department and was essentially ousted by his department. Frank eventually becomes a private eye, inspired by old detective books about Sam Spade and Johnny Dollar. Unfortunately, it's not all that it's cracked up to be. Most of his cases involve cheating spouses, insurance fraud and the occasional missing cat.

Frank typically ends the day hanging out at a local bar called The Black Sheep with his friends Aito Takanash and Dominic Emerson. They typically hang out and enjoy each others company and sometimes they even put their heads together to help Frank with a particularly stubborn case. Things are more or less good... until a figure from Frank's past comes around looking for him.

It looks like there's a string of murders happening around the city and Frank's old boss, Sergeant Harris made it a point to stop by Frank's regular hang out just to tell him to keep his nose out of police business. Undeterred, Frank sums up all of his courage to try to figure out who is committing these murders before anyone else gets killed!

...And that's basically all I had written before we had to discontinue the project. I'm sure I have a document detailing plot elements but that's as far as the finalized scripts go. The yaoi aspect was either going to be Frank falling in love with either Aito or Dominic or possibly both? I never got that far ahead in the writing to make a firm decision. You all know how indecisive I can get -.-

If anyone's interested, perhaps I can write it out as either a short story or a novella. Would anyone be interested in reading that? Let me know!
