Here's a new song.  The band backing me up here is Bernice, my main-squeeze touring and recording buddies from Toronto.  You've probably heard me gush about them.  They were on my last record,Colours, and have been helping me with The Gold String, too.  This recording is from a show at the Confidence Lodge on the south shore of Nova Scotia.  We spent the day drinking beer and eating blueberries on the beach.  It was such a sunny and satisfying one that I didn't even mind when the dryer broke and I had to bring a suitcase full of wet clothes to England the next day.  The title describes sticks underfoot, Skype not doing it, bodies and minds holding up (or not) under strain.  How to aim your sigh away from nostalgia & toward the future…
