Soul Saga - Beta Update - 18.12.04

I've been gathering a lot of feedback from beta testers (thank you, friends!) and applied some new features that dramatically enhance the flow of combat.

๐Ÿ”ฎ New Features ๐Ÿ”ฎ

  • Mobile Targeting System

You can now move and attack at the same time, and it ย FEELS SO GOOD! ๐Ÿ˜
Just lock onto a target, move to a comfortable position, then execute your attack.



๐Ÿ”จ Feedback Fixes ๐Ÿ”ง

  • Combat targeting now represents how distance affects melee skill power.

Distance from your enemies has been a factor for melee skill damage since Combat 3.0 debuted, but it was kind of a hidden feature. ย Now you can visualize the effect that distance has on skills by watching the size of your targeting arrows.

Bigger arrows mean bigger damage; smaller arrows mean... well, the opposite.


  • Agile Enemies

Enemies will now change their location when returning from an attack. ย This makes combat feel much more alive and dynamic.



๐Ÿž Bug Squashes ๐Ÿ›

  • Backend: Removed all visual scripting from the project and replaced with hard-coded event scripts. ย The visual scripting didn't expedite the game's development like I wanted, so I've just removed it to simplify the programming and avoid any odd bugs related to the third-party package.
  • UI: Choosing the "Leave" option at a Save Point will incorrectly show the teleport menu.
  • Misc: Other various minor bug fixes.

๐Ÿ“ Note: There's not much to report on bugs because Soul Saga is as stable as a table! ๐Ÿค˜
