Sources close to leadership at Saint Augustine's University say that its board of trustees will soon name university vice-president of enrollment management and student affairs Gaddis Faulcon as interim president, immediately replacing outgoing president Everett Ward.
Dr. Faulcon, a Saint Augustine’s alumnus who previously served as student affairs VP, was returned to his alma mater in 2016 after serving as interim president of Shaw University.
“Dr. Faulcon’s extensive higher education experience and exceptional leadership qualities are valued assets to our Saint Augustine’s University leadership team,” Ward said in announcing Dr. Faulcon's appointment. “As a student centered and result oriented administrator, Dr. Faulcon appointment supports the philosophy of this administration.”
Prior to his interim appointment at Shaw, Dr. Faulcon served as dean of the school’s graduate studies program, and chair of the Shaw Department of Allied Health.
Dr. Ward announced in January that he would retire from the university in July, but two sources say that his departure will be announced as a sabbatical from the institution after five years as permanent president.
