I was a huge fan of the work done to establish a new design language for icons during the development Ubuntu mobile and I was sad to hear about it all coming to an end. As I want don't to see all that work disappear, I've started work on a new icon theme that adapts the Suru set so it is compatible with any FreeDesktop environment (but primarily GNOME).

As such, I've designed a desktop icon style around the iconic Suru squircle and I have been adapting and tweaking existing Suru icons into that template. Also I've made some headway towards adding a full set of file type and folder icons based on old concept art for a would-be Suru desktop theme.

Right now this project is in the very early stages, I hope to have a more complete version become available in the coming months (and hopefully in time for 18.04).
