Table of Contents / Rewards Index
My patrons have access to over 30,000 words of material (there will be 50,000 words here by the end of March), and going forward a site Table of Contents / Rewards Index seems helpful. This post will update continually, and lays out the basics of what you, as a patron, have access to in each tier.

FOR THE PUBLIC / FREELY AVAILABLE

Most of the content on www.JonathanBall.com is published freely to the public, and made possible by my patrons. This includes my #95books reviews, my "Haiku Horoscopes" humour column and over 1000 other blog posts.

Additionally, the following is available publicly:

The early chapters of KANADA are available to the public.

Chapters 1 and 2

Chapter 3

The early chapters of DRAFT BY DRAFT are available to the public.

Introduction

Developing the Idea and Starting to Write

"TAKE YOUR SEAT" / $5 pledge

After a full year of patronage, I will mail you a signed book. Additionally, you have access to the following:

“As We All Should Lie,” a Borges-like short story about the sudden appearance of a city block, from as-yet-unpublished short story collection The Lightning of Possible Storms.

"Explosions," a short story from as-yet-unpublished short story collection The Lightning of Possible Storms that I use as a case study in DRAFT BY DRAFT (see below).

"My 4-Stage Editing Process," a 4000-word article detailing my 4-stage editing process, an approach to structural editing that can help you gain instant objectivity and identity problems in a manuscript.

“Waiting Room,” a short horror story published under the pseudonym Richard Crow, which forms part of my to-come endless multimedia novel, The Crow Murders.

A premium reward at this level is KANADA, a comic novel filled with darkness, a spiritual cousin to Franz Kafka’s AMERIKA, starring a troubled and stumbling man named “I” — an experimental novel fusing humour and nightmare.

You can view the Table of Contents for KANADA here.

Another premium reward at this level is DRAFT BY DRAFT: ONE SHORT STORY FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION, a nonfiction textbook on creative writing. I walk draft-by-draft through the process of writing my short story "EXPLOSIONS," explaining every single significant alteration: think of a  50,000-word case study about a 5000-word short story. Delving deep into the process of writing one single story gives powerful examples of how to write and edit overall, with ultra-specific examples that reveal grander principles.

You can view the Table of Contents for DRAFT BY DRAFT here.

"GRAB YA JAVA" / $57 pledge

Every month, I will Skype or FaceTime with you for an hour to have a virtual coffee and chat, plus every two months I will mail you something special, starting with a signed book. You also have access to ALL OF THE ABOVE!

"ENTER THE MASTERCLASS" / $197 pledge

Every month, I will read up to 10 pages of your writing and provide face-to-face feedback over Skype or FaceTime or phone, whichever you prefer. (If you live in Winnipeg, we could potentially meet for coffee.) I will also summarize my feedback in an e-mail for you, or as comments on your file.

My focus will be on helping you achieve your broader goals as a writer, not just on giving feedback. To begin with, I'll start with getting clear on your goals so that I can tailor my feedback to you. I will also provide you with lessons/writing exercises specifically designed to help you grow towards your goals.

Plus, every two months I will mail you something special, starting with a signed book. You also have access to ALL OF THE ABOVE!
