Take My Place - Quarter After (Justis & Marcus D)

Foreword from Justis:

"To make a quick introduction to all the Marcus D patrons:

I'm a Seattle-based artist by the name of ScalesOfJustis aka Justis. I've been collaborating with Marcus for about a decade now under the name Quarter After. "Take My Place" is a song we started while both attending school at Seattle University. We've performed it a number of times, but never got around to finishing it or releasing it. Our approach has always been to make music that will stand the test of time. This song embodies that philosophy. We hope you enjoy the track."

Justis and I met around 1997 or so, around the 3rd-4th grade. He's always been an extremely intelligent and gifted human being, as well as a loyal friend. And if I'm being completely honest, there's a good chance I wouldn't be doing hip hop if it weren't for him and the local crew in my neighborhood. If you're not already familiar with his name or our work, check out almost any of my releases (Revival of the Fittest (US&JPN), Shoshin, The Cool Vol. 1, Simply Complex, Another Day in the Life of... (Bop Alloy) and of course our group, Quarter After. We recorded an EP in college at the age of 19 called "G Between Us".

As always, shout out to the content curators who make these releases possible, especially the higher tier patrons. You fuel this ship.

Andrew Thomas, Jaspreet Longia, Rodrigo Tapia, Justin Cox, Francois Moussa, Justin Kamiyama, and Matthew Rollins.

THANK YOU
