Taking Command of the English Language

All of us have the potential for greatness but most of us were programmed for mediocrity. One of the most pervasive and persuasive forms of programming is the English language, itself. For embedded in its symbols and sounds are echoes and reflections of the divisive and conformist worldview from which many of us are now endeavoring to extricate ourselves.

At this critical juncture in human history, we are aware of the pressing need to take actions to limit the rate of global warming and other forms of environmental degradation. What is far less obvious yet even more essential is the need to recognize that the greatest threat to the future of human life on Earth is not outside ourselves. It is pollution of the Global See of Consciousness from which all our decisions emanate. It is our worldview, shaped by the stories we tell ourselves about who, what, why and where in Heaven’s name we are—that have led us to poison our own nest, pollute all life-giving elements, and literally uproot the very ground of our being.

Our minds have been contaminated by false ideals, faulty assumptions, and inherited negative beliefs implicitly communicated in the messages and metaphors within the very words we use to think and to communicate. But because we are immersed in words, their influence is virtually inaudible and implausible to us.

However, words are not neutral symbols for objects and ideas. They are heavily-freighted thought-forms and persuaders that filter our perceptions and influence our actions. This is why the intentional misuse of language to create a false impression is so pernicious and pervasive.

However, there is an even more subtle level on which words exert a shaping influence on our worlds. For the symbols and vibrations that compose words – both written and spoken – and the often ambiguous or contradictory reverberations contained within them, possess an energetic impact of their own. Little wonder, then, that we react to a tax as we do to attacks even if and when it’s for the common good.

The purpose WordMagic is to reawaken awareness to the power of the Word on a level rarely considered in Western culture since ancient times. It reveals a buried mythology and hidden agenda in ordinary language that profoundly influences our conceptions and thus our creation/perpetuation of the ‘dog-eat-dog’ world we have come to believe is the true nature of Reality. Yet, it really doesn’t have to be that way.
