Tarot Reading for Sarah K
“Supernova” spread: “Feeling stuck in life, in both work and love”
The imagery and symbolism in this card is astonishing, given the client’s subject of interest. I know the devil gets a bad rap these days, but keep in mind that he punishes only the wicked who feel no remorse, and is actually a pretty decent fella. This card is urging you to put subtlety aside and empower your vision and confidence. Break the chain that has commanded you, don’t be afraid to strike out on your own, let go of inhibitions, and allow yourself to express all of who you are. Acknowledge all of the feelings that are inside of you, even the negative ones. There is nothing to be gained by being subtle and playing by the rules. Assert your agenda, become one with your Truth, and let the chips fall where they may.
Your current challenge is facing your own boredom. You are being urged to organize and bring order to your personal life. Clarify things in order to prevent any misunderstandings and do not allow anyone or anything to dominate your thinking. You have lived in this unpleasant, unsatisfying situation long enough - it is time to make a change! You are becoming confined by beliefs that inhibit your personal Truth. Try to find balance and harmony with the energy surrounding you. Know that it is okay to leave behind a safe situation, but pursue your vision with a discerning and cautious eye.
Your family and friends will support and love you always, never forget that you are never truly alone. You have the potential power to bring abundance to your life, once you meet certain obligations to yourself and your Truth. You can have great benefit and value to others, overflowing with potential- and you must utilize it and share it with the world in order to tap into the rewards coming your way. Perhaps someone in your family has advice for some new clever and inventive way to utilize your talent.
Once more you are being urged to clear your mind and put your thoughts in order. Clear the clutter from your heart and soul, let go of those who would abuse you mentally or physically. Distance yourself from your romantic situations so you can see the broader picture of what is and is not acceptable, what relationships stunt your personal growth. When your balance and peace are disturbed - your passage is no longer serene - your emotions are stirred up and your physical or spiritual journey becomes stormy. Trying to "attack" a long standing problem - especially one that has been accepted by others - only agitates the situation. Unsatisfying or oppressive situations can go quietly along for years until someone decides to do something about it. Trying to remove the swords from the boat will sink it - they are plugging up the holes. When "swords" symbolize unhappy memories where silence has become the defense, communication will be painful - but it will also begin the healing process.
Center yourself, go deep within and seek spiritual guidance. I would like to suggest a guided meditation by The Honest Guys that can be found here: https://youtu.be/6VI4Y87paPs I find it very calming, and meditating regularly helps me keep my thoughts in order.
Odin hung from Yggdrasil, the tree of life, for nine days to sacrifice himself for the knowledge of the universe. In the reversed position, the Hanged man is asking you to see that this knowledge already lives inside of you. You are being urged to look hard at the thoughts and beliefs that are limiting you and hanging you up- and get rid of them. Listen to your inner self and disregard social pressures, do not give in to the “ego” that has been constructed by the modern world around you, full of materialism and greed. Trust your abilities, build your plans and accept that outward appearances do not always present a true picture. Seek the inner light - the stability that will never change.
When two cards come popping out like this together, I’m not about to put one back over the other or re-shuffle- especially when they correspond like this and are both Knights. Royalty in tarot often represents a person in your life, but can also have a situational meaning.
The Knight of Pentacles is the overseer of growth, the type of (usually male) person that goes with the flow. He sees the bigger picture, and is unfazed by the trappings and glittering things of the modern world. He is deep and earthy, gentle and easy going. In the advice position, you are being urged to cultivate your investments using good timing and skillful management. This card is reassuring you that your resources will enhance any endeavor significantly, and you will reap many blessings as a result of your participation. You are being urged to offer up your services to a new enterprise that will be greatly enhanced by your talents. What you sew will bear abundance.
The Knight of Cups suggests that the final steps to a long journey are about to be completed. He represents a character of someone who has journeyed far and wide, and has come to better understand himself. This person is finally returning to his true heart’s home, having fought hard to find his inner Truth. In the advice position, you are being told that this is the moment to apply yourself fully (after having followed the guidance of the other cards), and that it is time to get involved with what is happening in the present. Look deeply at the underlying values here. You may find that they represent something you mistakenly rejected in the past. Be humble enough to look at things through new eyes. At a deep level, your heart and soul are being nourished. Don't be tempted to run away again -- this is where you belong. Your entire journey was designed to bring you home to your Truth with new appreciation.
