Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the department lost two assistantships this year. There was only one offered, and I didn't get it.
This makes it imperative that I start producing, and I expect to have "TheBismark" out by May 15th. That's cutting it close to the Nebula Conference, but I want to have it out that weekend.
I've started a schedule for the Nebulas, and have requested participation in the Mentor program: Early Career writers get introduced to convention etiquette and other pros by a seasoned mentor. Sweet.
I am also working on a proposal for "Teddy Roosevelt and the Lost World" and the wider "Tales of the Dinosaur Century" to be able to shop.
Wish me luck, and feel free to share!
