This One's Not For Us
We have just published a new essay on our website, about the refugee situation in East Africa. The many issues affecting those across the Horn of Africa cannot be fixed easily, and provide many challenges for those on the ground.

As far as we're concerned, their plight is much greater than that of our small newsletter, and so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to launch a new fundraising endeavour.

While we hope for donations through Patreon to fund the Daily in time, the stark reality of the situation for those in Dadaab hit us particularly hard. As such, all donations collected in the next month will be donated to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

To give you an idea of how far our gift can go, they've given us this break-down of costs;

  • $60 can provide clean water for 60 refugees in an emergency situation.
  • $120 can provide tarps to protect 8 family shelters from the weather.
  • $240 can provide education grants for 8 children to attend school.
  • $1,000 can provide essential medicine to 100 refugees.

We will keep you updated, through the Daily and the Patreon feed, on our donation, and we hope to be able to run similar fundraising efforts in future months too.

I thank you in advance for your generosity, and hopefully our collective charity can benefit the world in however small a way we make our mark.
