Welcome to 2017! It has somehow already been a busy year for me as in the first day I 1.) started the 2nd Annual Sippy Awards and 2.) had a story, "A Lumberjack's Guide to Dryad Spotting," appear in the January issue of Flash Fiction Online. And the schedule really isn't going to slow down. This is a rather full week that mostly wraps up 2016 (there might be one more piece I review but I'm waiting to hear) and goes through all of the advance copy I get. And the month in general looks...full. Partly it's daunting because with all the time off I've actually had less time to read and review short fiction. Partly it's daunting because the Sippy Awards do take up some time and will be running all month. Partly it's daunting because there's a new publication, Fiyah, that I'll be looking at, as well as a special issue of Apex and probably Mithila Review.
So...well, if I seem a bit frazzled at times this month, that might explain it. I want to be sure to thank you all for your continued support. You are awesome and all of this is basically thanks to you. I hope to make 2017 a good one in terms of reviewing and this Patreon. I have a new Liver Beware! review dropping on Friday, so hopefully you like it. It's #3: MONSTER BLOOD, and apparently I got really into it so...yeah. I see that I'm starting to inch closer to doing another bonus as well, which will be for the classic TICK TOCK, YOU'RE DEAD Give Yourself Goosebumps #2. It looks...well, I'm very much looking forward to it. Hopefully I can hit that goal soonish. If you know anyone who might enjoy drunken reviews of Goosebumps or sober reviews of short fiction, please feel free to point them in my direction. Thanks!
I also have my stats for the year done and posted a little bit on Twitter about it, if you caught it. Otherwise, I will be doing my Monthly Stats soon and will be including the numbers from QSR 2015 as well, which I just went back and compiled. So yeah, if you're waiting to see just how much I've read and reviewed over the past two years, or if you (like me) find statistics fascinating, look forward to that. I'll try to put up some review previews as well sometime soon but my schedule has been getting in the way. My apologies. Anyway, I hope that 2017 is off to a good start for all of you. All the best and cheers!
