This picture of Horseshoe Bend, just outside of Page, Arizona, is from my recent #SWParksTour trip. People flock here each day as the sun sets, to get a dramatic photograph with a sunstar in the background, but we decided to go during sunrise to avoid the crowds and capture the softer light of morning. It's an incredible place where you can walk right up to a breath-taking sheer cliff that drops down about 1,000 feet. It's not for the faint of heart!
Although I often avoid the over-photographed, highly touristed locations, I wanted to see this place that I'd heard so much about . . . it's a natural wonder that has been thousands of years in the making.
This image is included in my Art For Healthcare collection because of elements like the calm river, the expansive sense of space, and the warm colors.
