As many have already seen I released Four Elven Characters (preface | conclusion) then started working on Four Dwarven Characters (preface | conclusion) immediately afterward to continue this process of learning about building characters, and how to judge level benefits against a character concept. It was fun for my analytical mind and allowed story-telling with my creative mind.
Likewise, I started planning this project of three roguish halflings. It was announced in the conclusion of the dwarves' series. So, I started in August on this endeavor, and I'm confident it lives up to the same reputation as the previous character projects.
Just as I did for the elves and dwarves, I've commissioned artwork from Fiverr artists to render portrayals of the characters based on a brief bio, color swatches, and reference images. I've reinvested pledges from patrons on this project. I feel this is a good-faith exchange of my creative writing with artistic content. It will certainly be better artwork than I can produce for myself.

This preface introduces the characters, and additional details of the biography and build process will be given in additional posts.
Ing Roan Gamwich of Holmon
Ingr is from a band of the Holmon tribal kinship, which joins seasonal treks of the Doalrode. Veihus is the town where he grew up, but Ingr has traveled with the Holmon band since his seventeenth birthday when he was allowed a rite of passage into the caravan of seasonal migrants. Now that he is of an age to consider marriage, Ingr has been advised to look outside the Holmon tribe for a bride. While searching for other huldufolk tribes of the Middarmark, he takes adventuring jobs with a party of vagrant gamblers, cutthroats, pilgrims, and peddlers. Ingr works as both a hired thug and an armed escort.
Lorelei Fairbairn of Talbot
Lori is of the Talbot tribal kinship, but she does little traveling with any of the migrant bands. Instead, she resides at Montajay estate serving as a hostess for spring, summer, and autumn festivals, bazaars, residents, and visiting pilgrims. Living on an estate in Tarn Tanleth, she has fewer stories of her own to share, but learns well the stories of others who visit the estate or the remote village surrounded by the wilderness. Her life has been exciting regardless; she is no shrinking coward, but rather enjoys a good hunt or a good fight and certainly loves a merry gathering. Now that she has reached a fair age to consider marriage, Lori has set out to make her own tales for telling, and hopes to encounter other huldufolk of the Middarmark outside the Talbot tribe. Joining a small party of roguish treasure-seekers, she guides the band to the fallen tower nearby for a bit of curious looting.
Romilda Jellesal of Orgulas
Romi is from the Orgulas tribe, and her past holds some frightening rumors of dealings beyond the veil of death (aside from her past spouses; she is twice widowed). Although she is a bit older and wiser, having lost two spouses marks her as a dark figure in the bustling metropolis of Rimholm. She works as a steward of the Glenwalk estate and offers readings for folks (especially the believing huldufolk) interested in her gift as a medium. Romi has many skills that surpass her gift for managing the estate, so most of the staff follow her commands more out of fear than trust. But, she gets a good bit of work done herself. Now that she is getting a bit beyond the marrying age, she feels compelled to leave the bustling city into the wider world seeking other huldufolk tribes of the Middarmark. Perhaps she will marry again, or perhaps end up dead in a delve. If nothing else, she can return to serve as chief steward of Glenwalk.
