Here is the cover art for the story I will be publishing as a serial here on Patreon. The first installment should have been up today, but some private matters have complicated my life in January. As a result, the first chapter will appear in February instead. Apologies for the delay, but I hope it will be worth it.
The blurb for A BRAIN ENCASED IN STEEL:
Jennifer Burman died in a cave-in while being pursued by giant invading alien monsters, but right now, that’s the least of her problems. After Jennifer died, her brain was placed in an indestructible, military battle robot. Ever since, she’s been fighting the alien invaders and protecting her daughter Allie. But staying one step ahead of the invaders while dealing with the fallout of an alien invasion makes for a complicated existence, and being a newly-created robot mom of a teenager is no pick-nick either.
Jennifer, Allie and the small band of human survivors they’re a part of, are navigating what’s left of the Lower Mainland in British Columbia, trying to stay alive and fight back. But not everything is what it seems, and even supposedly indestructible battle robots have their weaknesses.
I’m writing this novella as a serial, with a new installment being published every month on my Patreon.
The inspiration for this story, and its prologue, is my flash fiction story "Kaiju Outside Hope", published at Escape Pod.
Again, sorry for the delay in getting the first chapter finalized, but like I said, I hope the wait will be worth it!
