Twine / An open-source tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories
I had this idea yesterday that I could do an “intermission” chapter for the Center for Otherworld Science comic as a simple Twine game(http://twinery.org/). It would be a tiny interactive comic and a stand alone world building project. Most Twine projects I’ve seen and played are text based, but I don’t think it’d be too hard to illustrate as well. Given, I’m pretty busy. But, I painted these last night(there’s one other page of “art assets”) in 3 hours, and I’m giving myself another 12 hours to try and make this happen. I’ll reevaluate every 3 hours of work to see if it’s a viable project at all, but if nothing else, I still have a couple pages of backgrounds and tiny hazmat people that could be useful someday. At the end of 12 hours, I’ll either be frustrated enough to call it quits, or far enough along that I’m willing to sink more time into it. I'm going to document the process, and release all my files via Patreon as well - thank you for supporting my little experiments!
