Everyone starts by learning chords on the ukulele without really thinking about how they're made. It's fine for most people's purposes, but I wanted to make sure that the chords I made where ones that I discovered using music theory principles. It's my way of taking the instrument more seriously than I probably should, hahaha.
Another thing that's common among guitar and ukulele players is an ability to improvise a melody. I didn't want to be limited on the ukulele, so I figured that diving into a scale and using that as my starting place would help me get a better understanding for how I can go about doing that.
Hope you find this useful!
