Update: 3rd Goal Reached! You are incredible!

Hey folks!

1. I'll be honest: you guys are kind of blowing my mind right now. When I was devising goals and rewards, I genuinely don't think it occurred to me that we'd be at $276 per episode before the second episode even came out.

I can now afford decent mics for all my main characters, and two hours of acting per episode from each actor! Thanks so much to every single one of you. Every dollar helps us out, and we are very very grateful.

2. Hilariously, this surprising and touching groundswell of support puts me in a bit of a bind. You see, I'd promised that if we reached the $275 per episode mark, I'd write and record an exposition-heavy 80's cartoon theme song about the show.

I wrote the song two nights ago, but since half the lyrics are summarizing the main characters, and the majority of the main characters aren't even introduced until episode 2, it isn't going to make much sense right now. It's about 80% spoilers. Therefore, with your kind indulgence, I'm going to wait to release it after episode 2 drops. (I'd actually recommend listening to it after episode 3, but I'll leave that up to you.)

3. Auditions are open right now for casting episodes 2-6! Audition info is here: http://iriscasefiles.tumblr.com/post/156256201250/the-strange-case-of-starship-iris-auditions-pt-2 We've gotten some great auditions so far but I would absolutely love to get some more.

If you know someone who likes to act and fits one of those descriptions, please pass it along! If that someone is you, please try out! The deadline is February 2. (If you don't currently qualify for any of the available parts, please keep in mind that we'll be casting for a few more parts in April. I'll post about it here, on our tumblr, and on our twitter.)

4. Although most of the rewards aren't going to kick in until the next episode drops, I did say that the 300-word vignette would be monthly for patrons at the $5 level or higher, so keep an eye out for that  some time around the 31st.

Thanks again, everybody!
