AN UPDATE!

Sorry it's been so long, Matt here! I can't believe it's been five months since I last got in touch with our wonderful Funwraiths, 2016 was quite the blur. I just wanted to give you all a brief update on what's going on, as I'm aware that - wisely - many of you either aren't on Twitter.

The short version of the update is this: Cool Ghosts will be starting up again this month. Thank you *SO MUCH* for continuing to support us during this frankly hellish period of time. Keep an eye out for a video fairly soon.

Long version:

Gosh, thanks. The last six months have been a whirlwind - my fiance's cancer came back and the only hope we had was a treatment that cost over £10k a month. Since then we've miraculously crowd-funded enough to pay for her treatment for over two years, got married, and enjoyed a Christmas we never we'd see. My wife is currently doing much better (mostly thanks to extensive radiotherapy) and we're hoping that the immunotherapy treatment will have a positive effect off the back of that victory. Things may not be normal for long, but we're embracing the normality as best as we can.

Part of that for me means getting back to work, which is something I've struggled with over the past few months. After struggling with being constantly depressed and exhausted for a very long time, I found out a few weeks ago that I actually had a Thyroid problem -  in retrospect it perhaps isn't normal for your main hobby to be "existing in the bath" - but I'm hopeful that once I've adjusted to this medication my ability to work and outlook on life will be massively improved. So yeah, if you've felt that I've been increasingly miserable over the past few years then WELL DONE: YOU ARE PROBABLY A DOCTOR.

Anyway, this once again boils down to thanking you guys for supporting me through very rough times. It pains me that I keep having to do this, but your empathy and patience and overwhelming kindness continues to shield my faith in humanity.

Here's to fresh beams of brightness, poking through the curtain of 2017.

We'll see you soon.

Matt
