Just before I stepped back, I asked my patrons to withdraw their pledges because I knew taking ownership of the shop would make consistently creating art next to impossible. Four of you stubbornly kept pledging and I can't thank you enough for that. That extra $20 in my Paypal at the end of every month was incredibly helpful at times... and it kept Patreon close to the forefront of my mind on a regular basis. It was totally unnecessary! But, seriously... thank you so much.
I've tweaked my patron rewards a bit, dialing it down as I get back into the swing of things. I'll also be revamping my profile to fit the new site design (coming in March) and my new priorities, which are primarily portrait commissions, Postcards from Purgatory and the Sleep to Dream visual novel project. As much as I love making fan art, I probably won't be posting as much from here on in.
As for Sleep to Dream, I've been working with the Ren'py Visual Novel Engine, learning Python, working tirelessly on preliminary sketches and re-working the story to fit the new format. That's a lot of what you'll see here. The "game" will consist of two stories - Ramona's and Jack's - the choice of which players will be given at the start. And though the outcome of each story will be the same (there'll be no way to lose), the character whose eyes you choose to view the story through will significantly change how it's experienced. I'm very excited about this project. It's taken me a long time to decide for certain how I want to turn my first novel into something I can share with the world.
Postcards from Purgatory is also still very much a thing, although I haven't posted a new Postcard here or on Wordpress in ages. My immediate plans include finding a new host that will allow for the web comic to be the primary focus, rather than a footnote in a blog about everything and nothing at the same time. Once that's done, I'll be posting them again (though for now, it'll be on a monthly basis).
The portrait commissions will work in much the same way as they did last year. If you've pledged $25 or more to my patreon, you'll receive a full color portrait as a reward! For everyone else, a basic full color portrait (from the shoulders up) is $25. All portraits are delivered as high resolution files to the e-mails of those ordering them. I also accept requests for special portraits, such as cosplays or full bodies, the prices of which vary depending on the amount of time needed to finish them.
So... yep, I think that about covers it! I'd like to thank everyone out there, patron or not, who supported me through a pretty rough year and never let up on trying to get me back into creating. I hadn't intended to abandon my art... Life just got so messy that I lost sight of what was really important to me. I hope everyone else had a much better 2015 and is looking forward to 2016 as much as I am.
And now, back to the drawing board I go!
