Let me me start with this: #BlackLivesMatter.
In a time where every company, big and small, is sending out messages of support with eloquently drafted emails, I've found I'm at a loss for words. I've been so focused on what is happening in the world that even working on the blog has felt hollow. How could I post about food and fun while we are in the midst of not only a global pandemic, but a civil uprising unlike any we've seen in decades? What is happening right now is important - more important than anything I might create or say or share.
Other more experienced and more informed BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color) writers can say anything I'd type here better than I can. So please just know, Feast In Thyme stands with human rights; with Black Lives Matter; against police brutality; and against systemic racism.
In these revolutionary times, my forte is still in recipe development, and people have always told me good food brings them comfort. With this in mind, I will keep posting things up in the weeks that come to share with you all. We all still need to eat I suppose, and if you are like me, cooking and baking is an important means of stress relief. But if I end up quiet for a bit know its not because I'm not working. I'm just refocusing my energy to wherever it might be needed. I know you all will understand.
Take care of yourselves out there my friends.
