Things change and people's situations change and sometimes pledges are dropped, lowered, or otherwise changed in response. And we're okay with that! It's just part of the game.
I did want to address the subject of written content: it will be put back on hold until we hit the second milestone again. As a content creator I'm tempted to tell myself that I should just go ahead and keep cranking out written content even though we're below the threshold for it, just to continue making stuff for you guys. And that's a good question: why do we have to hit a certain dollar amount for written stuff?
To put it simply: Saturn and I adore making the show. It's the highligh of both of our weeks and we wouldn't trade it for anything. But it takes a lot of time and effort from multiple people, and anytime we add another aspect it takes just a little bit more time and effort.
But that's the beauty of Patreon! As our pledges grow the amount of time we set aside for Retro Warriors content grows in parallel. It's a hard truth to accept that as we get older it becomes harder and harder to make time for fun things like making shows, and Patreon is a way to ensure that our growth mirrors demand. In this way we can avoid over-extending ourselves for content that doesn't have an audience while making sure we continue to grow with our fans.
Anyway, all this to say that we greatly appreciate all of your pledges. It's a bummer that we hit and then fell below a milestone, but these things happen.
My personal dream is to do Retro Warriors for a living (shyea, and monkeys might fly out of my butt (sorry for the Wayne's World reference)), and every single penny, like, share, review, star, and comment that we recieve from our listeners puts us one step closer.
Thank you guys!
