Updates & Upcoming Enhancements
Greetings loyal patrons! First, I want to thank all our new patrons, and I want to thank ALL of you. We've hit our first Milestone Goal!!! The Obsidian Monolith is coming! I've already been working hard on it, and I'm hoping to begin production within the first few weeks. As I hope you all know, I try to be very transparent with what I do. So this may be too much information for some of you. :) I've been wanting to restructure the Patreon page for GM Intrusions for some time, and the completion of our first milestone is the perfect time to do it. I realize this might be a slight annoyance to some of you, but I think that in the end the new Patron system will be much better and easier to understand for everyone. Basically, I'm going to switch from a "per episode" system to a "per month" system. I originally set it up on a per episode basis because I was concerned that I might not be able to get episodes out every week. However, other than during my move, this hasn't happened, and I feel confident I will be able to keep a constant stream of episodes coming in the future. I'm not a fan of the "per episode" format because it can be unclear to new patrons what they'll actually be donating. Sure, you can set a monthly cap (and quite a few of you do that), but I feel it's unneeded complexity. I want all my patrons to know at a glance what they're going to be donating each month. Also, I love to get content out to you guys, and some weeks I can do 2 episodes. But with the per episode format, I feel bad if I put too many out. I worry that some may not have set a cap and will be hit with a bigger charge than they're prepared for. The per month format sidesteps all these issues. You decide how much you want to donate per month, and I can put out extra episodes without worrying about it. It's also a little better on my end, because Patreon takes a cut out of every transaction. So it's actually better for me if someone donates $5 once per month (one transaction) as opposed to $1 five times per month (five transactions), even though the donation amount on your end is the same. I also wanted to change the reward structure slightly. What does this mean to you? Beginning in July, your pledge will be per month as opposed to per episode. I will set up the new rewards so you will be getting the same reward for the same monthly donation. So for example, the $1 per episode reward will change to a $5 per month reward (I shoot for 5 episodes per month). However, you may want to adjust your pledge, because if you are pledged at $1 per episode, your pledge will be $1 per month when I make the change. I hope this makes sense to everyone, and I hope my reasons make sense. If you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. If you do nothing with your pledge (assuming you don't have a monthly cap), you will be donating less per month than you are now, so this won't screw you in any way. If you want to have the same reward level and/or make the same donation per month, you'll need to increase your pledge in July. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes you. I will be making a new video to explain the new system. Come check out the page in the beginning of July, and hopefully you'll like what you see. Also, I'm looking for some more ideas for rewards, so if you have any, please let me know!
