I'll have you know that not EVERY plant in this scene is carnivorous. Only a few of them!

But the Valley does indeed have an unusually high percentage of carnivorous plants. Red soil, you see, is fairly poor in nutrients. Certain types of plants do okay in red soil, but gosh, what if you (a plant) were able to get nutrients from somewhere else besides the soil? Eh? What about that? Did you ever think about that?

Oh, you did? Well, that must be why you evolved to eat bugs and maybe other things bigger and more mammalian than bugs. Good on ya!
