Annie's Story "Hello, my name is Annie. Some of the people who I hope will see this know me, some of you may have only recently learned anything about me. I have been a pretty quiet part of the world up until this point.
We are making strides!
This weekend is going to be make or break for this plan. We are still about $400 short of getting her into her new place. I've lined up a lot of help in terms of getting her moved in and comfortable. Even scored a donation of a Walmart gift card to help her get a few things for her home and a mattress for her to sleep on. All of these things are wonderful and will help immensely but what we really need to do today is make sure she has a place to put her new things! Everyone I know has had ups and downs. Most people have been a victim or know someone who is a victim of abuse. We all know the courage it takes to stand up and change. Right now we have the ability to change someone's world, to give another the opportunity to pick herself and make a life she can be proud of. If a few people brewed their own coffee this morning rather than buying coffee on their way to work, or maybe go out for lunch one less time next week, we could give a person a home. It is amazing to be a part of something like this. Teach the world that abuse will not be tolerated, that we will rise together against it. All it takes is making a difference, one step at a time!
