When Adult Men Sing The Stories of Teenage Girls
Around this time last year, the first episode to a new game series called Life is Strange dropped. A game about two teenage girls that didn't seem to be sexualizing them? Count me in.

The game's final episode released several months ago. This article has been in the works since then, going through many, many revisions. I wasn't able to find a home for it out in the freelance wilderness, but I think this viewpoint is an important one (and I swear I'm not saying that just because I wrote this!). Life is Strange won awards last year, even one for Games for Change. There are reasons why this game is a good one, but is it a force for change and diversity within games? I don't think so.

Music is a big narrative device in the game, which is why I was so disappointed to see only a couple of women involved with the music in the licensed soundtrack.
