Pros: Great performance, quick installation, saves space and runs quietly. Cons: higher cost.
Option 2 is to customize one that isn't as powerful via HP. The HP Pavilion 23se can be upgraded to an i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM new for $100 more than I can get the MSI AG220 for $900 refurbished. http://store.hp.com/us/en/ConfigureView?catalogId=10051&urlLangId=&langId=-1&storeId=10151&catEntryId=988158&quantity=1 Pros: Quick installation, saves space and runs quietly. Cons: less performance than Options 1 & 2 and higher cost.
Option 3 is to build a budget gaming desktop PC myself piece-by-piece which would cost half as much but because of fan noise, I would have to do a little more construction in the studio to silence it so my current "noise floor" won't be higher (in laymen's terms, I can keep the studio as quiet as it is now). I would have to drill holes in the cabinet for the cables and pad the inside of it and raise it above the wood on the bottom to keep it from vibrating. The pros: this option will cost less andI will get exactly what I want from my rig. The cons: it will take longer to put together and overhaul my studio to block the noise.
