my patrons this week requested a painting about a wizard's workshop.
I wanted to make something unexpected, so instead of a classical fantasy setting, I thought how a wizard’s workshop would look if it were established in our times.
The wizard is dressed in a simple suit, so he would look like any other person if he walked the streets. He is looking at the New York skyline, where apparently a dragon has set the city on fire.
Is the dragon his ally, or his foe?
I also wanted to put magical elements that were rooted in history, so we have: a bust of Hermes, the Grial, the Book of the Dead in his computer, the Star of David in the cloth, a pretty big jackal skull (maybe from Anubis?), and three staffs of different styles (druidic, XIX century, and Egyptian).
What do you think?
