Woman's History Month: Mary Wollstonecraft
Feminism began with Mary Wollstonecraft.

To be fair, there were probably feminists before her, but they are lost to history. By today’s standards, she is quite problematic with some of her ideas. However, A Vindication of the Rights of Women is the very foundation of feminism.

To this day, no matter what form of feminism we look at (And yes, there are some kinds like White Feminism™ and Rad-Fem that are exclusionary toward some kinds of women) the core is for women to have power over themselves, not over men.

With yesterday being International Women’s Day and this being Woman’s History Month, this core idea should be discussed more. Especially when conservatives want to admit that they are basic feminists.
