How great is that?!
This is where the personal is political. People come into my studio, and see what I do, and sometimes they call me brave. But you know what? I don't know how else to be. I'm out here doing what I'm doing. Sometimes I'm treading water, other times I'm soaring above the vast ocean, and every once in awhile I feel like I'm being pulled under by some giant sea creature! But that's just life, right? Everyone feels some variations of those things. I suppose the difference is that I don't have a "safety net" of a career, spouse or a family to fall back on. Okay, that's a bit brave!
So, yes, I'm a woman who wanders.
But there are SO many more out there! Some women are quietly wandering their own path through secret gardens. The world may think she is following the beaten path, but she veers off into the woods and goes on adventures without being seen. And that is beautiful, too.
We're all out there, just doing our best. And sometimes - more often than we know - we inspire others. Usually we don’t know that we’re doing it, but we lead by example every day. Every once in a while someone will tell me that I inspired them, and I get a case of the warm fuzzies!
Truth be told, it's written into my personal mission statement: my mission is to inspire and awaken possibilities in others. It's nice to hear when I've achieved my mission! This was the case today, when I saw Renee's Facebook post about our interview.
"This week's episode of the Women Who Wander Podcast is very personal to me. I got the chance to interview Tabetha Landt from Landt Creative Space who I took an Artist's Way course with in January of this year. I have always felt drawn to create, but also held back by self doubt. Tabetha inspired me to get out of my own head and just put things out there, even before they're perfect."
Many, many people inspired me to start my business, and to keep going even through the hard times. Julia Cameron inspired me to share her book, The Artist's Way, and that class inspired Renee to start the podcast. And now Renee is inspiring me. Pretty cool, right?
I invite you to listen to the interview, called "Finding Faith in the Creative Process", and see if you feel inspired to go create. Also, you can subscribe to the Women Who Wander podcast for more inspiration - she's got a new episode every Monday!
