BREAK THE WALL
Break the Wall seeks to generate understanding, solidarity and action towards a just and lasting peace, breaking down the physical walls that divide us as well as walls of censorship and misunderstanding. Written by new and established playwrights from diverse backgrounds, the ever-expanding collection plays on the Break the Wall site (www.breakthewallproject.org) will be available to be downloaded and performed for free, anywhere and by anyone.

WHY NOW?
This June marks 50 years of Israel's occupation of The West Bank and Gaza Strip; five decades which have seen the destruction of lives and property and the daily humiliation of millions of Palestinians as prisons, checkpoints and walls multiply around their ever-shrinking homeland.

It is our hope that Break the Wall will serve as a resource to educate the public about the costs of occupation and disrimination, and to mobilize our respective communities in a collective project of cultural resistance to injustice.
