About PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR

Hey, it's me, Coach Randy Brown, USBC Silver Certified Coach and the creator and play-by-olay voice of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR.

Thank you so much for watching PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR.  When I first started producing these junior bowling videos and posting them on YouTube in September of 2016, I did so solely for the purpose of promoting the youth bowling program that I run as Volunteer Youth Director at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta.  I had no idea the show would take on a life of its own.  Today, the show has viewers all across America and around the world.  The BrownswickBowling channel, where all the PRODIGY videos are posted, now has over 16-thousand subscribers and has received over 6 million views.  And you know what's really crazy about it?  Whenever the kids you see bowling on PRODIGY show up to bowl at an out-of-town tournament like Junior Gold, they routinely get asked for their autographs and people come up to them asking to take a selfie with them.  I am so grateful to all the PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR viewers who have made the BrownswickBowling channel on YouTube one of the fastest-growing channels on YouTube, and in so doing, have made PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR one of the most popular bowling-related shows in the world.

I've spent my whole adult life in broadcast media.  When I was just 16 and a junior in high school, I began my radio career as a top 40 radio disc jockey, and eventually went on to program several major market radio stations in places like Dallas, Houston and Phoenix.  In 1997, I moved to Atlanta to become the lead play-by-play voice of PGA TOUR Radio and had the privilege of walking the fairways with Tiger Woods right at the peak of his popularity while calling the action on network radio.  In 2009, I was inducted in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.  Today, I still work as a Voice Actor from my home studio, where I say things like, "The Best Mix of the '80s, '90s and Now..." for radio stations all across North America.

But the thing I'm most passionate about these days is producing PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR.

It takes a lot of work to produce PRODIGY.  In addition to the 3-4 hours I put in at the bowling alley to stage the competition right after our Saturday youth leagues and to film the competition, I then routinely spend another 30-40 hours each week editing the show.  It's like a full-time job.  All those virtual camera moves, the graphics, the on-screen scoring, adding the music to the mix and doing the play-by-play takes time.  And it keeps me from working at my actual job -- the one that pays the bills.  So I decided this season to shift my focus somewhat and see if PRODIGY's viewers would be willing to help support the show...and me...so I can keep producing the show without having to worry about where my next meal is coming from.

I do get paid a small amount each month in Google Ad Sense rewards for the commercials you see that run before the PRODIGY video starts playing.  But at the viewership levels the channel currently enjoys, that only translates to about $200 a month -- not really enough to justify the time I spend producing the show.  And that's why I've turned to Patreon to launch this page and to invite you to support my work producing PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR.

In this, our second season doing Patreon, I've simplified the process a bit.  Rather than three tiers of support options, there are now just two.  For $5 a month, you'll receive early access to all our PRODIGY content.  And for $10 a month, you'll receive early access and you'll be mentioned in the end credits of each week's full-length PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR episode as an "Executive Producer," a change from last year when $20 only got you "Producer" status -- congratulations, you just got a promotion!

I am very grateful to have the privilege of bringing you these awesome kids showing off their bowling superpowers on the lanes.  I'm sure some of them will eventually wind up coming to you on network television once they turn pro.  And when that happens, you'll know you saw them first on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR.  By stepping up and supporting my efforts to produce the show with your membership contributions through Patreon, you will help me keep producing PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR and developing new forms of content.

Thank you so much for being a fan of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR!
