ProtonDB

Using Proton, you can now run many Windows games on Linux even if the game does not officially support it. ProtonDB (originally Steam Play Community Reports or SPCR) is a community site for tips on which games run well and how to get them to run better. Up to now there are 60,000 reports for nearly 10,000 games.

This site was created and has been maintained by just me (Buck DeFore) on my spare time and savings, and has at times meant taking time off from work in order to build it. It's been a passion project and a wild ride.

But I'm not done yet! There are still features planned, including self-editing of reports, contributor pages, a revamped home page to highlight games that are recently released or are improving. With your help here, I can justify setting aside more time to keep these features coming, as well as help defray the costs of servers.

ProtonDB is not only the product of my labors but also the many thousands of authors who have contributed, and for that reason the site's content is and will always be publicly available not only on the site but on regular exports to https://github.com/bdefore/protondb-data. There will never be a paywall.
